What makes a hotel stay memorable?
I would say the staff are what make a hotel stay truly memorable. Friendly, welcoming and attentive service can make all the difference, and it's often the people you meet who leave the strongest and most lasting impression.
What details do guests notice the most?
Guests often comment on the attention to detail from the warm, personalized service (no online check ins! ) and elegant interiors to the comfortable rooms and thoughtful touches. We strive to make each guest welcome.
How has luxury hospitality changed in recent years?
Luxury hospitality has evolved from focusing primarily on opulent facilities to creating meaningful, personalized experiences. Today’s guests value authenticity, personal service, sustainability, and seamless technology just as much as elegant surroundings. Where do you go for coffee?
Åpent Bakeri at Adamstuen is one of my favorite coffee spots in Oslo. It’s a charming neighborhood bakery with a warm, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. On sunny days, I love sitting outside with a coffee, or grabbing one to go before exploring the city. And don’t leave without trying their homemade raspberry jam, it’s so good I often bring a jar home as a little treat.
Which neighborhood do you love the most?
Frogner is the neighborhood I love most. It has a relaxed atmosphere, beautiful architecture, green parks and plenty of cafés. Even though it’s right in the heart of Oslo, it feels removed from the busier parts of the city, perfect for a slow walk or an afternoon or spent exploring. To me, Frogner captures some of the very best of Oslo.
What would you recommend to first-time visitors?
If you are visiting Oslo for the first time, I would recommend exploring the city by foot as much as possible. Walk along the waterfront at Aker Brygge and Tjuvholmen, visit the Opera House, and spend some time in Frogner Park. In my opinion, Frogner Park is one of the most beautiful places in Oslo. For shopping I prefer the area called Promenaden, the area located around Øvre and Nedre Slottsgate. And after a long day of shopping, make sure you stop by Theatercafeen, one of the most iconic Norwegian restaurants. If you have time, take the metro up to Holmenkollen to see the skijump and a beautiful view over the city, or hop on a ferry over to Bygdøy where you can find several great museums and lovely walking paths by the fjord.
What do you think is underrated in Oslo?
Taking one of the public ferries out into the Oslofjord. Hop on a boat to Hovedøya, Gressholmen, Lindøya, or one of the other nearby islands to escape the city in just a few minutes. Each island has its own character, with scenic walking trails, quiet swimming spots, small beaches, forests, and beautiful views back toward the city skyline. It’s affordable and a unique way to explore Oslo, especially during summer.

Brasserie Ouest is my favorite restaurant in Oslo. It is a hidden gem located in the Frogner neighborhood and a place that many locals love. The food is amazing and the kitchen is led by several highly regarded chefs, which is reflected in the quality of every dish. Favourite coffee spot
It's hard to choose just one. Besides Åpent Bakeri, Tim Wendelboe is a favourite for its world-class coffee and dedication to craftsmanship, while Hernandez is another go-to for its excellent brews (don’t sleep on the cheesecake!) and relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Both offer a great taste of Oslo's vibrant coffee culture.
